Founder Master Fraz Lopez

Master Eufracio “Fraz” G. Lopez was born in Abucay, Bataan, on May 15, 1944 residing at Cubao, Quezon City Manila Philippines. He graduated his College Education at Manual L. Quezon University with the degree of Bachelor of Arts-School of Arts and Science, Major in Political Science, SY 1977. He has also completed the required units in B.S Education at the same University. He is also a graduate at National College of Physical Education, Major in Physical Education.

Master Fraz Lopez began his Karate training at an early age under Master Mar Amungo from Commando Karate Club. He then joined the Philippine Amateur Karate Association and Commando Selt Defense Karate Club under Master Latino Gonzales, the Father of Philippine Karate. Master Fraz Lopez got the several training in Karate, Arnis, Judo, Nunchaku and Samurai under Master Nelson Doromal of All Philippine Martial Arts Self Defense (APMASDA). He also got his training in Arnis under Grand Master Remy Presas, the Father of Modern Arnis at National College of Physical Education.

After completing his apprenticeship under the famous Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Masters, he then organized the Press Belters Karate Brotherhood & Golden Eagle Karate Brotherhood affiliated at APMASDA.

A truly dedicated and traditional karate, he felt it was his duty to promote the importane of Martial Arts. Master Fraz came to Kuwait in 1988 he was determined to propagate the style of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Shidokan with intent of teaching Overseas Filipino Workers to learn self-defense. He then founded the “Philippine CatsClaw Martial Arts Association” a name derived from the hard hitting claws of wild cats which is now known to the public as “CatsClaw “.

Master Fraz Lopez died last July 25, 2011, but his legacy will remain in the hearts of every members of the CatsClaw family.
